Jahde's Story
After high school, Jahde wasn’t sure what she wanted to do and was very overwhelmed. Through the University of Minnesota Jahde learned about Hired from her technology education teacher and mentioned there was training available to learn more about the trades industry. Support from Hired helped her break things down and take it step by step. By connecting, Hired helped Jahde expose herself to the trades and ultimately help make the decision to go into welding.
Jahde’s employment counselor helped guide her while searching for employment and sign up for different certifications. Her counselor also helped her create a resume and provide support to obtain the equipment necessary to join the welding program at Anoka Technical College. They also provided gift cards to Target and Holiday which helped with transportation and other necessities.
Without Hired, Jahde says that she would not have been exposed to the trades career path and would not have gone into this field. The support from Hired means the world to Jahde as she continues to pursue her passion.
