Hired provides 1:1 coaching, career exposure, and holistic services to help young people achieve independence.
We work with young people to build bright futures.
Hired’s Youth and Young Adults services teach people ages 16–28 vital life skills to help them re-engage with school, find their first stable job, and increase their financial literacy skills.
Last year:
Hired saw a 17% increase in enrollment, partnering with 681 youth and young adult.

Workplace Readiness and Opportunities
Participants learn essential skills, like mastering a resume, job search, application, and interview. We also connect people to subsidized internships, job shadows, and work experience aligning to long-term career goals.

We help participants reconnect with educational pathways, including support for earning High School Diplomas or GEDs. Hired staff also provide support for short-term skills training and certifications, and planning for post-secondary education.

Hired partners with young people to identify strengths and set meaningful life goal. We work in collaboration to develop skills like digital and financial literacy, navigating housing and healthcare systems, and accessing essential resources.

Q: How does Hired help support youth?
A: Hired can support youth with a variety of services such as employment and job exploration, support while connecting to education and postsecondary options, life skills development, financial wellness, goal setting and achievement, and stabilization of living situations.
Q: Does Hired offer internships?
A: Hired doesn’t directly offer internships but Hired has partnerships with local employers to help youth apply for internships and jobs in the community.
Q: What additional support is available once I enroll?
A: When a youth enrolls with Hired, they are also eligible for various wraparound supports included in enrollment: financial wellness, referrals for housing support, and family home visiting parenting programming.
Q: Can Hired pay for tuition or other living support needs?
A: Hired can support youth through resource navigation and find the resources they need to stabilize and succeed. What support services are possible for individual people depend on available funding and program guidelines.

Q: What are the eligibility requirements for enrollment?
A: Requirements include WIOA youth – low income status, determined from DEED, 70% of poverty level. Additionally, youth must meet one (or more) of the following criteria:
Pregnant/parenting
Criminal system involvement
Risk of school dropout
Disability (self-reported)
1-2 grade level behind, significantly behind in their education
Faces housing instability

Q: Do I have to be enrolled to receive services?
A: Yes, participants need to be enrolled in the program to receive support from Hired.

Q: Is Hired a job placement agency? Can Hired guarantee a job placement?
A: Hired is not a job placement agency. We work with youth and young adults to identify and prepare for educational and career pathways and empower youth to work towards those goals. Working with Hired means that our staff support youth as they chart their own course towards career success. We offer programming that ideally leads to employment; we help guide youth towards employment and achieving life goals.
Q: How long will a youth work with Hired?
A: The length of time that a youth will work with Hired can vary greatly, based on the individual needs and plans for the youth, as well as their engagement with Hired. On average, this could be 6 months of programming, with up to 2 years of support from Hired.
