Free training building towards a Technician career track with average industry starting wage $25/hr
Career exploratory and work readiness training
Paid internship/employment at Seagate Technology, Polar Semiconductor, or Skywater Technology for 9-months
Coursework at Normandale Community College earning up to 12 credits + the opportunity to test and earn the Certified Production Tech credential
Potential to exit to an apprenticeship, 2-year degree, or 4-year degree program with internal employment promotion
Job coach and support including interview clothing and fuel or bus cards
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Subject to criminal background check
Available 10 hour days, M-Th for work/college coursework
Walking/standing for prolonged periods
Work in a cleanroom environment with gowning attire
Reliable transportation (Bloomington area)
Solid reading and communication skills, basic arithmetic
At or below 200% poverty income level and/or other qualifier

Stage 1: Semiconductor Discovery Summer 2024 (hybrid - in person and virtual)
Jump into career exploration and job readiness training with Hired. Learn about semiconductor manufacturing, see a clean room, take tours and meet employers, Build job readiness, customer service, and digital skills.
Stage 2: Semiconductor Earn & Learn Pre-Apprenticeship Fall 2024 - Summer 2025 (In Person)
You will get paid $20/hour as you work, learn, and train at Polar, Seagate or SkyWater You will have the chance to move into $25/hour apprenticeship. Employee benefits include health insurance, regular breaks and paid time off. Earn 12-credits with Normandale Community College and an opportunity to learn an industry-recognized credential.
Stage 3: Semiconductor Credentials Summer 2025 (in person)
Program and coursework completion. Opportunity to move into a paid Technician Apprenticeship Program with Polar, Seagate or SkyWater
