Seagate Employee Dislocated Worker Program

Former Seagate employees recently selected HIRED to provide us with employment and training services. Services are available to us at no cost. The program funds are in the form of a grant from the State and we have chosen HIRED to administer the program. Please read this entire document, as well as the web links provided here, to make sure you understand the benefits available to all of us due to the loss of our jobs through no fault of our own.

This Dislocated Worker Program was created specifically for us as former Seagate employees and is designed to offer us significant benefits such as:

  • Assessing our current skills and situation. Do we need to consider extra skill training or certification? Do some of us need to complete a degree or certification program? Are any of us considering a small business? How about changing careers? Funds are available to provide us with training at any number of schools; even online courses.
  • Resume Development – Assisting you to sort through your accomplishments, past jobs, transferable skills and identifying your job goal or objective.
  • Putting together your individual plan for job search and networking in order to get that job you’re looking for.
  • Help with understanding e-networking in your job search.
  • Medical Insurance and support services. earn more about the new, just released COBRA Continuation Coverage Assistance under the stimulus package.


HERE’S WHAT YOU MUST DO

HIRED’s project manager for the Seagate project is Matt Derosier. He is available by calling HIRED at 612-302-8500. Let him know that you are interested in enrolling in the program and you will be assigned to an individual counselor for one-to-one meetings.
