You’ve seen the headlines. The statistics tell a sad story. For the first time since 1983, almost 10% of American workers are jobless – 15.7 million people. Here in Minnesota, that translates to more than 263,000 people out of work.

HIRED is on the front lines. This year, over 11,000 have passed through our doors – afraid that they no longer have the skills or education to compete for available jobs. Parents, once able to support their families, are now casualties of cutbacks. Beyond these statistics are our neighbors…people looking for work, looking for help, looking for hope.

Never has HIRED’s work been more urgent, which is why HIRED is turning to you – to help us raise $50,000. We depend on you to invest in our clients. Your donations help purchase the clothes a homeless teen needs to interview for a job; the steel-toe boots that allow a woman to start on a construction site; the bus pass that gets a young father to his first day of work on time.

You are what makes it possible for your neighbor to take a step forward toward gainful employment, and our community to take a step toward economic growth. Together, we can help our neighbors get to work.
