Second-annual Jobs Summit Fundraising Breakfast a Success
On May 14, over 200 community members pledged more than $40,000 in support of HIRED's work. The second-annual Jobs Summit program featured the emotional stories of HIRED clients, an address from Executive Director Jane Samargia, an exclusive performance from singer/songwriter Adam Levy and an account from Philomena Morrissey Satre, a Wells Fargo employee and volunteer member of HIRED's Employer Advisory Board.

Executive Director Jane Samargia said, "This year's Summit was another success and we are incredibly thankful for the support we've received. As I said at the event, we're thinking strategically about the future of Minnesota's employment landscape and the financial contributions we have received will help us continue to do our job with the same optimism, knowing that we are prepared to meet the challenges ahead."
Remarks from attendees were very positive. Most cited the performance by Adam Levy and the personal account of Quwatel Brothers as their favorite portions of the program. Quwatel, a 21-year-old HIRED client, shared her experience of being homeless and without hope, struggling to make ends meet, until enrolling in HIRED's STEP program and landing a paid internship at a local daycare.
Samargia continued, "Thank you to everyone who attended and helped us make the Jobs Summit a success. We sincerely appreciate your support."
