Miyagi LogoMiyagi Salon Gives HIRED Clients Makeovers

Mo Murphy – master stylist and owner of Miyagi, an Aveda Salon in Northeast Minneapolis – along with six of her staff members, provided complete dream makeovers for five HIRED clients on March 31. The women were nominated for the services by their counselors for their hard work and consistent efforts.

Cindy Eskandary, HIRED senior business development coordinator, was overwhelmed with the generosity of the Miyagi staff. "When I first met Mo Murphy, she offered to assist HIRED clients and suggested the makeovers. I had no idea that she would close down her salon for half of the business day and her entire staff would be on hand for the sole purpose of providing our clients with complete makeovers. Not only that, Mo sent each of the women home with free products as well! This is by far the most rewarding thing I have ever been able to do with my clients. To see how great these women looked and felt when they left the salon after hours of pampering – their confidence was truly transformed. I just can't thank these talented stylists enough for what they contributed!"

Miyagi is a prime example of businesses creatively giving back to their community through services. HIRED welcomes, and is thankful for, organizations able to make in-kind donations to help clients improve their living situations and employment outlooks. Thank you Miyagi for your donation of time and talent to bettering the lives of these five women!

If you or your business would like to donate in-kind gifts or services to HIRED, please contact Director of Development and Communications Erin Loavenbruck.
