Job Skills Workshops

HIRED offers enrolled dislocated workers a full menu of workshops and Transition Seminars. HIRED's workshops are intensive and tailored to the industry and interests of the participants. We keep the groups small so that each participant gets personal attention and has opportunities to ask questions.

• Job search skills workshops address the skills necessary to secure a job in today’s economy. Topics include resume development, completing applications, professional job search correspondence, interviewing and Internet job search.
• Career workshops help participants understand trends, training requirements and hiring processes for particular industries, such as information technology, finance or healthcare, or for occupations, such as administrative assistants. Our trainers can present workshops on a wide variety of industries and occupations. They often customize workshops for groups of workers.
• Special topics workshops cover issues that are often of interest to people who have been laid off. Workshops are offered to help participants deal with change and grief. We also offer workshops to help participants with financial planning and making healthcare decisions.
• Job clubs and networking groups are offered to provide participants with an opportunity to share job leads and job search tips. The discussion topics are selected by participants.
