HIRED’s clients face increasingly difficult challenges in finding employment. For clients enrolled in multiple social service programs, balancing the sometimes conflicting demands of systems that are not effectively integrated can be extremely demanding. HIRED’s employment counselors respond by going beyond helping people look for jobs — they also help participants address personal and family issues that impact their ability to work. Through direct services, workshops or referrals to other community organizations, HIRED can help participants obtain assistance with:
- Housing
- Childcare
- Transportation
- Legal issues
- Healthcare
- Mental health issues
- Family problems
- Physical limitations
- Financial planning
- Parenting skills
- Meeting basic needs (e.g., food, clothing)
While HIRED’s primary focus is on helping clients find and hold employment, in many cases stable employment is only possible when other life issues are addressed.
