One-to-one ten minute resume critique with quick resume tips
and evaluation of formatting. (Meet with clients for 10 minutes
each during a 2 hour time frame)
Resume Review, Group Discussion (Must have a resume!)
This workshop offers participants the opportunity to have their resume critiqued by other job seekers. The group will hear first-hand advice about resume strategies that have been effective in their peers’ job searches. Please bring additional copies of your resume for use in this class.
Resume Review (Advanced Level)
Your resume is the first meeting between you and
your future employer. This workshop is designed to help job
seekers improve or customize an existing resume. Learn how
to make your resume stand out above the rest. Your resume
could equally make or break your chances of getting that perfect
job!
Interviewing 101
A successful interview leads to a job offer. Find
out about the types of interviews employers conduct. This
workshop will help you develop and practice responses to common
questions, including difficult ones regarding gaps in work
history and job termination.
Networking in the Hidden Job Market
Research shows that most jobs are secured through
a connection with someone who works for the employer. This
workshop is designed to help you understand the importance
of networking, identify your own networks and develop strategies
for building your network and putting it to work in your job
search.
Effective Job Search Letters
Learn how to write cover letters and thank-you letters
that showcase your skills and help you stand out from other
applicants. Receive guidelines for content and format, and
begin to draft your own letters.
First Impressions, Best Impressions
(Basic Level)
The first impression an employer has of a job applicant will
determine whether the applicant is considered for a job. This
workshop will help you develop techniques to make sure your
first impression is your best impression.
Individual Career Services (Basic-Advanced
Level)
Sign up for a 15-minute appointment with HIRED’s career
services specialist Nancy Buysse and use the time for a consultation
of your job search strategy. Services include resume and job
letter review, how to answer interview questions, suggested
job leads, and employer information.
