Position Title: Individual Giving Coordinator

Location: North Minneapolis

***** This is a temporary position of 30 hours per week with an unknown end date. *****

Position Summary: The Individual Giving Coordinator is responsible for developing the strategies and portfolio required to identify, close, and retain relationships with individuals in order for HIRED to meet its annual revenue goals. The coordinator will work with the director to develop a plan for raising funds from individuals and manage all aspects of that plan. The coordinator will determine appropriate strategies for donor retention and upgrade of current donors as well as the acquisition of new donors. This position will also be responsible for coordinating outreach activities in order to identify potential donors and mobilize volunteers to participate in successful stewardship and solicitation. This individual will also develop written materials, manage mailing lists, prepare and execute mailings, and provide gift acknowledgment for a database of donors

 

Primary Responsibilities:
 
  • Build and maintain relationships with individuals, including new, lapsed and existing donors.
  • Manage a portfolio of donors providing support within a specified range and cultivate relationships to increase individual and annual giving.
  • Grow donor relations program and HIRED’s annual fund.
  • Coordinate campaigns for annual fund by preparing mailings, writing letters and entering donor data. Plan and execute direct mail appeals and outreach events including HIRED Gives, seasonal/lapsed/segmented appeals.
  • Diversify approach to donor retention, stewardship, and engagement. Execute targeted appeals that help us better understand our constituency.
  • Lead appropriate activities to foster and track strong donor relationships.
  • Coordinate outreach activities and events for constituents and the public at large (HIRED Works, promote donor events and volunteer opportunities, Jobs Summit logistics)
  • Increase community awareness of HIRED’s services in the community, organizational needs, and how individuals can become involved.
  • Responsible for data management (gift entry/acknowledgement, mailing lists) to increase efficiencies in reporting and relationship management.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
 
  • BA/BS required. Masters degree in public administration, nonprofit management preferred.
  • Experience cultivating donor relationships which has resulted in gift donations;
  • Energetic self-starter who willingly takes direction when required.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising in an environment of similar complexity
  • Ability to earn and maintain the confidence for management, program staff, board members and volunteers
  • Superior presentation skills, including the ability to deal effectively with diverse constituencies including donors, board members, staff, and clientele
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, strong writing and editing skills, and a capacity to listen, engage, inspire and persuade
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Knowledge of Raisers Edge
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and be attentive to details.
  • Expert Microsoft Office skills with significant experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Outlook and ability to learn other applications as required
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with ease.
  • Must have the desire and ability to successfully work as a part of a team, contributing to the overall quality of the development department.

Compensation for this position is market competitive and commensurate to experience.

Salary Range: $16.35/hour – $21.80/hour                          Salary Grade: Support Services 2

FLSA status: Nonexempt
